An ideal world, a refuge, a retreat or an overgrown scene of a past that is no longer visible: the images of seemingly untouched nature can stand for many things. Oliver Gröne and Wolfgang Siesing present us Inzenierte Idylle (staged idylls) in paintings, photographs and texts. What do painters and photographers discover on the outside and what do they create from within? Is the viewer's place of longing different from that of the artist?

WOLFGANG SIESING studied photography and politics at the HBK and TU Braunschweig. He repeatedly works at the cultural and political interfaces of our society and also finds the motifs and themes for his reportages in war zones. His photographs and texts have already been presented at numerous places, including ADAC Urlaub, America Journal, Artmapp, AWO, Audi, Die Neue Reiselust, Der Spiegel, Die Süddeutsche Zeitung, German Historical Museum, FOCUS, Geo-Saison, Guardian, HPP, MAX, Monopol, PLAYBOY, Revue, ver.di, Volkswagen, Welt, Wunderwelt Wissen, Stern, FHM…

OLIVER GRÖNEwas born in 1969 in Lemgo, North Rhine-Westphalia. He lives and works in Berlin and Potsdam. Whether French landscape painting of the 19th century, birch forests, baroque still lifes or the modern pictorial compositions of Cubism and Pittura Metafisica - again and again he finds subjects, approaches and epochs with which he engages in a dialogue and raises old questions anew. The answers in his paintings are never mere rejection or adaptation, but always his own perspective and individual development of a theme. He is not interested in the pretended illusion of a specific place or object, but rather in revealing something essential in order to enable a localisation in the pictorial space that he himself has further imagined.

Inszenierte Idylle can be seen in the gallery's Rooftop Showroom on the 3rd floor. To mark the opening of the exhibition in the gallery's Rooftop Showroom (3rd floor), Wolfgang Siesing will read two current texts in which the forest plays a role at 6.30 pm.
